Divorce Financial Analysis

When divorce runs through mediation or collaborative negotiation, the financial analysis is what the whole conversation stands on. We do that part.

Book a consultation

Most of the decisions in a divorce are financial, and most of them are made under time pressure with incomplete information.

We analyse the assets, evaluate the support scenarios, model the long-term outcomes, and show you what each option actually produces before anything is signed. We are not attorneys and we are not mediators. We are the financial analysis inside the process, which means that when you walk into a negotiation you already know what you are looking at.

That tends to lower the temperature as well. When a conversation is grounded in numbers both sides can see, there is less to argue about and the agreement that results is more likely to survive contact with real life.

What the work covers

How it works

  1. 1. Initial consultation

We clarify your goals, your financial concerns, and what you are negotiating for. This is the foundation everything after it is built on.

  2. 2. Documentation and analysis

We gather and organise the financial records, analyse assets and debts, and prepare the schedules the discussion will run on. Clear documentation is what stops something important being overlooked.

  3. 3. Scenario modelling

We evaluate the settlement options side by side so you can see both the short-term and the long-term result, including support projections, division comparisons, and tax impact.

  4. 4. Mediation and collaborative support

We provide the financial clarity during the sessions themselves, either alongside your attorney or as part of a collaborative team, so the negotiation stays grounded in numbers.

  5. 5. Settlement implementation

We review the agreement to confirm the financial terms do what they were intended to do. The measure is whether it holds up over years, not whether it closes.

Where we work

We are based in the Lowcountry and work with clients in South Carolina and Georgia in person, and nationwide virtually. Whether you are preparing for mediation, entering a collaborative process, or simply want clarity before you speak to an attorney, the preparation and analysis are the same.

Retirement division is priced separately as flat-fee work.See QDRO and pension pricing.

Common questions

What makes this different from what my attorney does?
Your attorney handles the law and the negotiation. We handle the numbers underneath them: detailed analysis, scenario modelling, and the long-term planning view. The two roles work together, and neither substitutes for the other.
When is financial analysis most valuable in mediation?
When the decisions involve the house, retirement accounts, a business interest, or long-term support. Questions like whether you can realistically afford to keep the house, or what a buyout actually looks like, cannot be answered with assumptions.
What is collaborative divorce?
A team-based process outside of court where both parties work with their attorneys and other professionals toward an agreed settlement. We support it on the financial side, so assets, income, and long-term outcomes are understood before anything is finalised.
Can you act for both of us?
Yes, in the right circumstances. We can work as a financial advocate for one party or as a neutral helping both sides understand the impact of what is being decided. Which role applies is agreed at the outset and does not change midway.
Do you attend mediation sessions?
We can. It is a separate service, priced separately, and in person or virtual attendance carry different schedules.
Do you provide legal representation?
No. Tidal Pointe Advisors is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. We work alongside your attorney rather than in place of one.
